Govern Schisler Family Scholarship
The Govern-Schisler Family Scholarship was established in 2021 by Jodi Govern (’82) in honor of her family. Jodi attended The Ohio State University and obtained a BA in Political Science in1986, and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1989. She worked as an attorney for the State of Ohio for 30 years and lives in Dublin, Ohio.
Jodi’s mother, Geraldine (Schisler) Govern, graduated from Marlboro High School in 1957. Geraldine was well known throughout the community. She worked at the Marlboro Cemetery for over 50 years and served on the Marlboro Memorial Day Committee.
Geraldine’s brother, Lee Schisler, graduated from Marlboro High School in 1956. Lee served in the Ohio National Guard and was a truck driver for most of his life.
Jodi’s sister, Kim (Govern) Niskanen, graduated from MHS in 1984. Kim graduated from The Ohio State University and Kent State University. She is a high school Spanish teacher in Virginia.
Jodi’s brother, Rick Govern, graduated from MHS in 1986. Rick and his wife Jeanine (Funk) (MHS Class of ’88) own and operate businesses in the area.

This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Marlington graduate attending any public Ohio University, with a preference given to students attending The Ohio State University.
