Liber Service Award Scholarship
The John Liber Service Award is given each year to a student who has demonstrated genuine concern for others, a concern which reflects itself in the form of active and unselfish service within the school and community.
John Liber served on the Marlington School Board for 17 years and spearheaded the drive to build Washington School, Lexington School, and the Marlington High School(MHS).Mr. Liber unselfishly devoted most of his adult working life to improving the education opportunities for the children of the Marlington Local School District.
This award is not based on grade point average, but more on character, service to school and community, and concern for the welfare of others.
The winner’s name is engraved and added to the plaque at the entrance to the High School. The award also includes a $1,000 check.
Annual selection of the recipient(s)will be made by a combination of the Marlington High School guidance department, teachers, and administrators of Marlington High School.
MHS will make the annual selection and notify the Marlington Alumni Association of its selection by February 28. The Marlington Alumni Association (MAA) will make the award as part of its annual scholarship recognition program, and add the name of the new recipient to the plaque
